We arrive in the Gran Sabana. Miles of undulating landscape with very dry land and clumps of very hardy looking grass. We go off the main road (which is actually quite good) and onto the bumpy dirt track to try and find some watefalls and Indian villages but sadly the truck is too big and heavy to go off the makeshift bridges. Instead we decide to park up on a hill overlooking the miles of nothingness. Is fantastic. We sit on the roof with a beer and feels amazing. After a while we notice a couple of locals who have walked from the village 7km away to go to another village so we give them some water and have a sign language chat.
We pitch our tents and have dinner before bed.
