Up to another glorious day of sunshine although the weather forecast did not look great. Were told by Viv and Jane that Coromandel should be lovely today which was fortunate as that was where we were heading.

Drove further north through Thames and up the west side of the Coromandel peninsual which has fantastic beaches and bays and the road next to it. Stopped a couple of times to try and find some mussels (Coromandel is famous for them) to cook for lunch (you are allowed to take 25 for free) but couldn't find 1! Bloody seagulls I reckon. Had a wander around Coromandel town which is a lovely small old town with some lovely looking cafes and restaurants we then headed further north to Shelly Beach which was recommended and found a great spot overlooking the sea to park up late afternoon to sit and read in the sun and watch the sunset. Absolutely perfect. Then watched the moon rise and set and stars sparkling everywhere. Not sure if it was a UFO or a planet that was twinkling green and orange in the distance but was lovely to watch.
