Spent rest of yesterday driving over the Crown Range (lovely drive) tto Wanaka - another lakeside town. Wanaka is a lot nicer though and equally scenic - it feels a bit more real and not just geared up for tourists. We booked in at a campsite with lake view and chilled out for a bit before we saw the most amazing sunset over the lake and mountains in front so ran down to the lake to get a photo! Was one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.

After that exercise we headed back to the campsite to cook our dinner before going up to 'Cinema Paradiso' which had been recommended to us - a boutique cinema (if such a thing exists). Is basically a small cinema with old sofas, airline chairs and, of course, an old car at the front (if you want to sit in it). Was a different experience and was improved even more by the raspberry and white choc icecream at the interval although they had run out of their fresh baked cookies sadly 1-View from the Crown Range

. Unfortunately the film, The Inside Man, (Spike Lee) was disappointing but was an interesting evening nonetheless.

Next morning another glorious day followed (have become obsessed by the weather - think its because our day is so focused on what we can do out of a camper van!!)decided to do Mount Iron walk which has 360 views of the area and is pretty steep (were very impressed that Dave's mum did it a few years ago). We then sat by the lake for a while and read books - our latest mission is to be successful business people so have invested in a few books to work towards this. After that we had decided to have a nice meal out with local food and had chosen a restaurant on the hill which was v nice - Te Awarha (I think) - food lovely and no main course more than 10 quid each (is same for pretty much all restaus - benefit of weak NZ dollar). One of the reasons we chose this restaurant was because we knew that some of the current resident film crew were coming here (are currently filming some car chase film in the mountains). They weren't coming in until 9 so we ate our meal as slowly as possible to see them and when they did arrive we didn't recognise a soul!

Drove out of Wanaka and north between Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea and found a quite spot to spend overnight.
