Silly name, great place!

Again had decided

1 - Sunshine Beach

to go to Noosa to chill for 24 hours and miss out Fraser Island (world's largest sand island) which was a difficult decision but decided we can't do everything. Anyway drove into Noosa which is basically water everywhere you look - sea, inlets, creeks, etc. Arrived and got picked up by our accommodation people 'Bella Costa' who are actually just outside Noosa on Sunshine Beach. We opted for the 4 person apartment with kitchen, balcony overlooking the sea etc and were sharing with a Danish couple. Location was absolutely fantastic and were straight out for a walk up the

pretty desolate beach to the local surf club. Spent the next few hours overlooking the ocean with our lunch and bottle of white wine. Could get used to this!! Were sorely tempted to stay here all day but forced ourselves to get the bus into Noosa which is a nice smallish town, bit touristy, loads of posh restaurants etc but fantastic scenery,etc. We walked through town and up into the National Park which is at the headland and watched some surfers and the birds for a while as the sunset. If we had more time would have been great to walk all the way around the coast which looked amazing

2 - Enjoying wine at the Surf club

and really reminded me of Pembroke (south west Wales - with better weather - if anyone knows it!). We then wandered back into town to the Noosa Surf Club where we had dinner overlooking the beach here which was also very reasonable and great. Taxi home after a bit too much wine but one of our best days yet (and not just cos of the wine) we really love it here!

Woke up at crack of dawn and Dave fortunately remembered we hadn't booked our bus yet to Brisbane which was due to leave in about 4 hours! Although we didn't want to leave we wanted to get to Brisbane to see our friend who was picking us up! fortunately got the bus ok and having had breakfast at a small cafe near our apartment we prised ourselves away from here and onto the bus where we drove down the beautiful coastline whilst half watching Shrek 2.
