Khao San at Night

Spent today feeling sorry for ourselves again (not due to the alcohol I hasten to add) as we still don't feel 100%. Spend the day wandering around Khao San Road trying to buy cheap supplies before we go. Move to a nicer hotel (Siam Palace) after Dave's repeated complaints about the last one (and I thought I was fussy - no it was pretty bad).

The worst thing about our last evening is that although we love Thai food neither of us could stomach it so ended up having chicken and chips and a burger instead. We will be missing Thai food within a week I reckon.

We also try and book accommodation for Tokyo which is frustrating as sites don't let you do it this close to your potential reservation. We then have a minor panic over the cost of things in Japan. We always knew it would be expensive but hotels look like a minimum of 100 pounds and we have no idea about food, transport etc (no guide book).

So we leave for Tokyo tomorrow not knowing where we are staying and expecting the worst in terms of price. Needless to say we are both a bit nervous.
