Moving on to Chengdu

Today, we got a bus to Xi'an International (& Domestic) airport (25 RMB) and a flight to Chongqing which we managed to find on-line for about 30 quid each and which saves us a 20 hr train ride. All was fairly easy and on arrival in Chongqing, we got a bus into the city (15RMB) where we immediately caught another bus to Chengdu (133 RMB - about 5 hours) and finally a taxi to find our hostel (abour 30 RMB) - so it was a day of travelling.
We are now staying in Mix & Backpackers Guesthouse in the northern part of Chengdu city - its a homely place with very firendly staff although they don't appear to have any kind of heating!
We're staying in a private twin room for 60 RMB per night (about 4 quid) and we're basing ourselves here for a few days.
