After the late braai I didn't managed it to leave at 7.30! Packing, breakfast, saying goodbye to Carlos (we probably meet up again in Capetown) and of I went at 8.30h.
I first wanted to fill up my tank in Aus...and yes, it was Steve himself who filled up my tank. Having a little chat about my trip of the day, it was clear I had to change the route. This involved not 600 km but 730 km, but a scenic route! Oh my god, maybe the last day in Namibia was the best day! An amazing scenic route it was!!! Thank God I saw Steve in the morning.

From Aus it was going south to Rosh Pinah. Once I passed this town I had to continue south, but once I was close to the SA-border I had to turn left and follow the Orange river upwards. There was a warning that the next 80 km were gonna be narrow, lots of turns, up and down, ... After not even 1 km I realised this was gonna be awesome. Following a river filled up with water in Namibia, with his fauna and flora: nice!
After almost 100 km along the Orange river I had to go north again (further away from the border) to Ai-Ais and the original destination Fish River Canyon! The scenery was unforgettable.
After like 380 km I reached Fish river canyon, the 2nd biggest canyon in the world. Great views!!!
Last year I visited the third biggest canyon in the world, so now I need to go to the Grand Canyon in the States and the top three of the canyons are all marked on the list.
After visiting the canyon it was time for a lunch (14.15) at the Canon Roadhouse! Around 15.00 I was ready for the trip to SA, another 350 km, most of it on tar road. All went well, also crossing the boarder...easy and by 19.00 I was at the lodge. Dinnertime, some blogwriting and sleeping.

Tomorrow another 6 hours drive to Paternoster where I will stay for 2 nights. On wednesday a drive of 2 hours with destination Table View near Capetown! I can not wait to meet up with Chris, Desti, Natalie, Cat, Mark, Margs, Maria and JC!

Finally I drove almost 4500 km in Namibia!
