Last Saturday - July 19th - saw the 29th anniversary of the success of the Sandinista revolution, which was celebrated in style in Managua. I went with a few of the other volunteers to experience what I was hoping would be quite a historical occasion - we were not let down. Although I have seen parties and celebrations on a scale of this size before, I have never experienced anything as political and full of propaganda - as we listened to fiery anti-US rhetoric from president Daniel Ortega and even Hugo Chavez of Venezuala, I couldn't help but think of Hitler's famous rallys in Nazi Germany all those years ago.
Anyway, once again here are a selection of photos from that day, including a couple of the night out back in Granada that followed.
