We had a quick wander around Santa Marta and enjoyed a beer at sunset before having dinner. We could only manage a couple of drinks with Anthony before going to sleep. The next morning we watched Spurs lose to Man U in the FA Cup and then had to wait around for hours for the woman from the guesthouse to come back so we could get our valuables from the safe. We then jumped into a cab to Taganga, a fishing village 5km outside of town which had heard was great place to hang out. We found a lovely guesthouse called Pelikan just one street back from the beach and settled in for a few days of sunshine and of course Carnaval.

Those few days turned into 12 before we finally got off our arses and did something. It was so nice though, getting up about 9am, having breakfast or a fruit smoothie, lying in the hammocks until lunch, then an afternoon doze. Evenings were spent in a local bar and we managed to do nothing very well. Carnaval was a bit more lively and Elliot went back to Santa Marta with a few locals. One of them was wearing a Chelsea shirt and he turned it inside out so as not to offend Elliot!

We also made quite a fews friends with locals and travellers which made it all the harder to leave...
