Dave was up early to photograph the sunrise, but the girls slept in. We packed and set off for Las Vegas. It took about 5 hours to get to Vegas. On the way we drove through the Hoover Dam site - this is a pretty amazing Hydro electricity site on the Colorado River that has been in operation since the 1930s. We arrived in Las Vegas mid afternoon. The hotels in Vegas are huge so it took us a while to find our room at the Circus Circus. The hotels have casinos, and ours was only a small one compared to some of the others. But it was still big, with a casino and a adventure games room and many restaurants and gift shops. Unfortunately, we were given a smokers' room and it smelt bad, so we requested another. We walked down the strip of Las Vegas Boulevard to check out the shops. We had tea at the hotel, then Ellen went back to the room to watch the fist episode of the new season of Supernatural!!! The rest of us walked along the strip, checking out some of the casinos. The strip is very different at night, all lit up and glamorous. We were a bit tired so we didn't walk the whole strip. A taxi ride (the long way) got us back to the hotel - And we didn't even spend any money on gambling.

Re: Supernatural ep
Sadly I chose to watch Supernatural rather than wander the strip (but I have been there before).
I missed the start, but it was an awesome episode. Unfortunately I'll be on the plane when episode 2 screens. Hopefully they'll show it at home really soon. The whole angel/God scenario is quite unexpected, but should make for some interesting storylines...
Cannot Believe It
I cannot believe that no money was dontated to the good city of Las Vegas via gambling !!
