After a cooked breakfast we headed off on the long drive to Tombstone, Arizona. It was about an 8 hour drove, plus stops. The landscape is very different in Arizona. Mountains of rocks for miles and miles (yeas it is miles in America). Then all of a sudden you are driving on flat desert-like plains. We saw lots of cactii along the plains. We even drove through a desert storm. Sunny all around and raining above us. The temperature dropped from 101 degrees F to 83 degrees F as we drove through the storm, then rose back up again as soon as the storm passed. Very weird! Arrived in Tombstone (about an hours drive from Tuscon) about 5.30pm. Very old town where silver was once mined, and where the 'Shootout at the OK Corral' took place. Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday & Billy the Kid all lived here back in the 1880's.  Every day they stage the shootout of the OK Corral so hopefully we will watch that. Lots of history surrounds this quaint little town. Dinner at one of the saloons (One of the Earp brothers was shot from the balcony) finished off the night for the girls, while Dave went off to check out the other saloons.
