We packed and set off about 8.30am towards San Diego. We detoured to Newport Beach looking for the OC beach but we couldn't find it so we continued on to Huntington Beach for some shopping at the surf shops, and lunch. Dave spent ages looking for a newspaper to find out the AFL scores, but gave up after 3/4 of an hour and went and got a beer!!!!. Then it was on to Laguna Beach for a stroll - no TV stars today but the beach did look familiar. sort of. On our way to San Diego we stopped at a rest stop and we saw squirrels running around - novelty for the 3 Mooroopna tourists but not for Ellen. Finally we arrived at Point Lomas, San Diego and eventually found the hostel. A home cooked meal and internet catch up filled in the night. And we are so glad that Collingwood (and Sydney) survived their matches this weekend for at least one more taste of AFL finals!!
