This round-the-clock pulsating coming from NuBar is really becoming an issue. They should put it in the pamphlet that you sleep in rooms literally directly above this bar, where they play lots of "Blurred Lines" and students YELL until 2 am. I don't know if it's just selective listening on my part, but it really does seem like there is a significant amount more yelling involved in the Irish drinking scene. Here's hoping tonight won't be too rough and I can arise bright eyed to take this final and then be FREEEEEEEEEE!!
Me and my roommate have taken it upon ourselves to organize a program-wide beer pong tournament before we all depart to roam Europe in the spirit of American-ness. We have about 50% of the program on the bracket, which is pretty fantastic, and assuming we can find ping pong balls, we will be good to go. This will be a competition of dark horses, because there is really only one human on this trip who I know could play pong blindfolded with his left hand and that is Kyle 2. Kyle 2 goes to Boston College and he just radiates beer pong expertise. He said he is accepting resumes and letters of intent to anyone who is interested in joining him on the winning team, bah. We will see if one of the other 25 underdogs can rise to the top.
Next, of course, is Fall Break! Me, Colleen, Katie, and Rachel are getting ready to embark on what is sure to be the most insane trip any of us have ever taken and we are SO excited. The general plan is as follows:
Stop 1: Geneva- a day trip to the French town of Chamonix to hike in the alps, and a day in the old city, where my bestest friend Cleo's family is from. Maybe I'll find her grandparents, I feel like they'd rock.
Stop 2: Milan- not much of a stop because we plan on just passing through to get on a train to...
Stop 3: Cinque Terre- oooooooh I'm excited about this part! Planning on doing an 8 mile hike through the 5 towns and we WILL get in the water. No excuses, play like a champion.
Stop 4: Florence- ever since I took a life changing art history class in high school, I have always died to come to this place and look at the art. I don't even think I'm very good at museums-usually I get bored and restless- but I plan on seeing every one of the paintings and buildings that I printed out on the backs of flashcards and studied for hours upon hours senior year. I will definitely write Donna a postcard from the Duomo.
Stop 5: Venice- as if Venice was not already exciting on its own, some of my favorite people from the program will be joining us on the last, and longest, stop on our journey! We will be here for 3 days, instead of 2, and Molly, Nora, and Alexa are coming! I'm sure we will take the city by storm and kiss each other on gondola rides etc.
I am truly sorry for those of you who read this during midterms. If you can't believe I get to do all this cool stuff, trust me it makes 2 of us, because I have LITERALLY no idea how I've managed to get this lucky. Something about the luck of the Irish, I'm sure :)
Okay, back to the books....... maybe
