I am back home for just a few days until my next adventure. I take off Thursday for Helsinki for the weekend. But, I'll fill you in on the little things in the mean time. I'm back to work, and it's not been nearly as time-consuming as in the past. Thankfully. One bit that made me really happy the other day was this: I had been talking about the physiology and pathology of a problem with the calves with one of the women who works with the calves on my big farm one day. I always figure the more the workers know about WHY something happens, they'll be more apt to work on fixing the problem. So, the next day I'm doing my calf rounds, and I hear Heidi (this woman) explaining my very words to a new kid learning the job. I couldn't stop the smile!!! Sometimes when you try to teach something, it actually works!!! Made my day.
I haven't been out biking or much lately, as my back has been pesky. So, trying to minimize the pain and get back to normal. But as soon as possible I'll be back out riding.
I finished my first whole (adult!) book in German yesterday. It was an exciting moment.
Some of you may have noticed there is now an end date to this blog. That's because I have a one way ticket to the US next January. Kat and I were asked to fill in at MSU's big teaching farm, teaching students and learning about production medicine for a year. Now who can really say 'no' to working in such a great place, with great people AND your best friend?! Not us.
