Aunt Sue and I got out walked downtown. This only takes about 15... but in the heat it feels like a whole lot longer! From the apartment, we walked to the UN building to see Pete at work. From the UN building we hit the post office, the Russian pedestrian bridge (with a great view of the millennium bridge), the national defense building, with a final destination of the Budda Bar. Despite the menu being entirely in Serbian, i still managed to get across 'Bacardi Cola'. :D Interesting note: Because of the intense heat, there are many restaurants that surround the outside eating/drinking area with a mist. This is to prevent their customers from overheating while at their cafe. It is actually quite nice and not hot or sticky at all.
Once we got home, walking in 38 degree weather had finally taken its toll..
Today Aunt Sue and I went out for lunch. We had a drink and shared a VERY tasty pizza - it was very thin crust and very light and tasty -- all for under 10E. After, we ventured over to the only mall in town "Delta City" to attempt to see The Proposal. To kill time, we wondered around so i could explore, went to Neptune so i could buy an Ethernet cable (typical me - i forgot mine at home), enjoyed some gelato and bought some food for supper. All this to find out that the time listed on the theater's website was 40 mins later then when it actually started -- and that we missed the first half hour of it. :( Oh well, perhaps we will try it again another day -- or perhaps we will just go and sit at the Budda Bar and relax and enjoy ice coffee and wine!
