Last week passed pretty uneventfully and without a vacation, so here's a treat for my loyal readers: A short entry.

School is just chugging along.  I got A's in both of my classes from last month.  That's one down and two to go.  I didn't really go out this weekend because most of my friends went on trips to Sevilla or the Canary Islands.  I did spend Friday afternoon at the beach, which was incredible considering it's still February.

My host Mom's son and his girlfriend came over yesterday with their kids for lunch.  We had cocido, which is my favorite Spanish dish so far.  The 11-year-old son taught me how to play a soccer card game.  He was blown away by the fact that I didn't know how many midfielders there are supposed to be.  He's very patient, and kept saying things like, "Use Xavi, you'll always win with Xavi."  I lost.  4-1.  I don't think he taught me the right way to play, because he just had to keep on using the same move and he got a goal every time.  I call foul play.

Today we visited a ship that's a reproduction of a XVII century Spanish warship, the Galeón Andalucía.  That goes down as one of my most random experiences so far.  It wasn't even supposed to be in Alicante, but it got thrown off course because of wind and was here for the night.  I of course managed to get sea sick during the half hour we were on board.  I don't know what it is with me and boats.  Overall, it was just your basic ship, but it provided a great setting for some pictures of the Mediterranean and the sunset.

Next weekend I'll probably go to one of the nearby beach cities, so that should be some better blog fodder.

"Better blog fodder" would be a good name for a band.

Personally, I like the long blogs, but short ones are good too.

Those pictures of the ship are super cool, I'm jealous of the pictures a lot. Although, I'm sorry you got sea-sick, I get major sea sick too :(
