On the way back we decided to stop at a Polish cemetery where Katrina's grandparents are buried. I was taken about by how busy the place was. There were about half dozen flower and candle vendors lining the path to the cemetery. Once inside there was a flurry of people pouring over tombs of loved ones. The place was vibrant and bright with autumn flowers and wreaths on every gravesite. That, mixed with the changing of the leaves left a huge impression on me.
Driving back we passed through Nowa Huta, which was a symbol of communism in Poland. The Lenin Steelworks was built here and industrial communism flourished here. The steelworks still exists, but its no longer named after Lenin!
Last night's fog put a kink in our plans for the last in Poland
On the way back to the hotel, we passed the Pharmacy Museum and realized we missed the closing by only 15 minutes. All I got was a blurry shot from the outside.
Dinner and back to the hotel to pack. Our plane leaves at 6:30am tomorrow for Beirut! I don't know if I'll have time to update this from Beirut, but if not, I will certainly do it this weekend. Thanks for reading !!!
