Where I stayed
The Tin Can
What I did
Left England and arrived in Scotland
A steady trip through Carlisle, and, there is nothing glamorous to write about Carlisle, at all....
Over the border....see ya later England, hello home of the haggis and Buckfast!!!!!, and the weather comes into its own, quote of the day "Man o Man, I have never been in a thunderstorm like it" from one Sir Gaz Castledine....(you need more meat on you youth).
This results in a man hug session in a bus shelter (strange men, in strange lycra, hugging), please remember such behaviour should be confined to the Tin Can!!!!
The chaps continue northwards, and Simon and Rem resist the urge to take a quick detour to bring a sense of committment to their flourishing relationship in Gretna, and continue towards Sanquhar.
Rem seems to be struggling with the local accents. Apparently Mince pies means something a whole lot different up here.
The guys have had a fairly steady time of it with their over priced lumps of carbon fibre, with no real problems....until today....let the trouble commence
1. Simon "busts" a spoke
2. Lloyd "busts" a gear shift - Rumours are rife that this is due to him actually changing gear for the 1st time
3. Rem "busts" his chain with some pistom like pumping of his pedals
4. Simons under carriage dosnt sound too good (whatever one of them is)
More hail storms, followed by sunshine. Frost bitten, sunburnt cyclists result....
Ah, Sanquhar, we love you......
Now lets see what the night life is all about
