So today is a special day, well for some anyway......Salvation, in the form of different faces is on its way.....thats right, 2 of the chaps are lucky enought ot have their good ladies heading north to meet them at Penrith...Yes, Gaz`s missus, and Fozzy`s better half are due to arrive later in the day.

The boys rise, two of them will a spring in their step, and off the go...The Lake District beckons...Gareth didnt mention that there are some serious climbs today....lets feel the burn!

And a landmark for the boys awaits...No not 6 days without Simon inflicting serious pain on Rem, but they will pass the halfway mark.

The guys take lunch just short of the Lakes, and after a quick cream scone and a cup o tea, they head straight into the heart of it....

First is Kirkstone pass, nice and dry, well on the way up anyway. The legs are feeling tired, the burn sets in....the tears roll, but the group battle through, only to be greeted by an opening of the heavens on the way down...

83 miles from todays start and they arrive in Penrith, 501 miles down....A LOT still to go.

The bikes are packed away, and two of the group take up positions outside the Tin Can, overnight bag in hand, on some sort of pilgrimage, not to the gods, but just awaiting the arrival of the saviours, a night away from the Tin Can, a nice soft bed, warmth (still some snoring), and no rocking as someone makes their way to the toilet!!!!

Ah salvation arrives, so off pop Gaz and Fozzy...maybe never to be seen again...
All that is left is for Simon and Les to manouvre their bed to a position where they can cuddle while watching BrokeBack Mountain later on. Lloydy boy is on washing up duty, and the lights are turned out.....
