It was difficult to get up this morning. We were up a little later yesterday since the sun was up until at least 10:30 pm which was unusual. After snoozing for awhile, and stopping at the street markets to pick up breakfast, we found our way to the Palace of Versailles which is in the suburbs about 10 miles away.
The palace is impressive. The inside is ornate and has so much detail in the decor of every room. The grounds are expansive. I think we walked about 8 to 10 miles today. The gardens were in bloom. There are numerous gardends with fountains and statues.
After resting our weary feet at the hotel for several hours we walked over to the Eiffel Tour at 10 pm to see the light show.
Off to bed now to rest my feet for a day at the Louvre tomorrow.
P.S. Our french is improving if ever so slightly.
