LORETO-This small but mighty town is located on Mexico's Baja California Peninsula, on the Gulf of California. It is a spectacular setting, with abundant sunshine, pristine beaches and a atmosphere that spells R-E-L-A-X. It is perfectly clean and the walkway or Mallecon along the shore is beautiful wide and full of artwork. It is no surprise that the prime mainstay of their economy is tourism. It has a very different vibe from the neighbor Cabo San Lucas. For me, it is that Sea of Cortez and the abundant sea life. This is where we take a two hour drive across the peninsula to Magdalena Bay. This bay is where female Grey whales have come for years to give birth to their calves and stay until they are old enough to make the journey for summer feeding in Alaska.
