We made our way from Battembang to Siem Reap via a boat that was way too small for the amount of people that it had on it. With all the bends on the river and the fact that the water levels were low I suppose they couldn't get much bigger on it.
Having said that there some great views of life by the water. Everywhere we went again we were greeted by kids shouting and waving at us. We pulled into one or two spots with some of the best tiolets in the world. Basically a cabin with a hole in the floor thats directly over the river. It was only when I thought about it afterwards that maybe I shouldn't have had that rice from the "restaurant". I didn't see any water taps around the place!!!
Anyway we eventually made our way to Siem Reap on yet another dusty bumpy road which mightn't have been so bad if Di wasn't sitting on my lap, She's not a big girl by any manner or means but those bumps could have done me some major damage.
Siem Rea itself is really nothing more than a stopping point for travellers to go see Angkor Wat. But they have put up some decent pubs so we managed to have a good time. It also the place where we said goodbye to the two Swedes,Ib and Lyn.
Well enjoy the pics......................
02. The riverside life
As it was there were two guys up on the front of the boat that had to push us off the banks every time the boat couldn't take the corner and ended up crashing onto them. So I suppose you couldn't call it boring.Having said that there some great views of life by the water. Everywhere we went again we were greeted by kids shouting and waving at us.
