Toujours rien de confirmé, à part le fait que ma formation avec ACF commence le 15 mai et que je pourrais - ou non - avoir mon visa pour le Soudan cette même semaine, ce qui me donnerait un départ le 20 mai ... ou non ! Tout dépend des gentilles personnes de l'ambassade du Soudan à Ottawa ... pas de commentaires ! Mais dès le moment où j'ai mon visa, ce sera un départ pour quelques jours à Paris pour le briefing (c'est le terme officiel, alors pas de sermon sur la qualité de mon français) et puis - enfin - départ pour Khartoum. Mon stage doit durer 6 mois, pendant lesquels je ne pourrai sortir de Khartoum, la capitale du Soudan. Alors, à moins qu'ACF ne m'engage, je n'irai pas au Darfour.
Mais comme l'incertitude et les changements de dernière minute font partie intégrante de la vie du travailleur humanitaire, je pourrais aussi être à Montréal jusqu'en juin !!! 27 années à voyager stand-by avec Air Canada m'ont cependant préparée à cette épreuve ;-)

Hello !
So here is the latest with me : I don't know when I'm leaving yet ! What I do know, is that training starts here in Montreal on the 15th and if the nice people at the Sudanese embassy give me my visa that week, I could be leaving as early as the 20th. It would be a few days of briefing in Paris and then off to Khartoum (Sudan), which I will not be able to leave for the entire duration of my 6-month internship ... so unless they hire me, I'm not going to Darfur and, for now, that's fine by me !
On the other hand, the odds of the people at the embassy being really nice are not that good, according to my boss, so I might be hanging out here until june ... and then you'll be begging them to give me a visa just to get rid of me !
More news when it becomes available.
