Day 9 (F) Woke up at 5:30 today showered and we made it to the bus station very early which was good I needed some café to wake up. I got a cornetto and a cappuccino. The ride to Seine was beautiful. We had a guided tour that took us through the city and showed us some of the cool things in the city. The city was the first road, first hospital, and the first public bank. The city was amazing very cool art work all over the city. We went into the church of St. Domenico, St. Catherine skull is preserved in plaster that has her face carved into it and they have her thumb persevered for all to see she died in 1433 or something like that it was a long time ago it was kinda cool to see that, she was nun at the church and is the local saint. While we were in the church monk started a chant it was beautiful. She walked us through the city showing us all kinda cool stuff you will just have to look at the pictures. The second to last stop was the Duomo of Seine, the inside of the church has to be the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The detail of the church is ridiculous, the floor of the church took 50 years to finish it tells tons of stories one part is only uncovered once a year

. The rest of the church took 2 centuries to be completely finished. The pictures don't do it justice because we couldn't use flash. One room was well light it had beautiful frescos and the manuscripts of on of the first type of music ever written down, a Gregorian chant. Saverio is a 30 year old or so worker at CAPA he was our supervisor for the trip he is becoming a good friend of the "meatlocker" (that is the name we chose for the apt. because our door looks like a meat locker door). We hang out with him and he shows use all kinda cool things in Italy, and tells use things we should do. He took us to get a local delicacy tagliaterre di cinghaile, pasta with wild boar meat, it was amazing, and he also took us to get the best pizza in town. We still had an hour before the bus left for San Gimignano so the five of us went to our meeting place the Piazza del Campo, this piazza where the famous horse race takes place on the path around the outside of piazza. The piazza also has the Fontana Gaia and Palazzo Pubblico, the path around the outside is a shell shaped it is covered with sand for a 3 lap horse race (il Palio). The race started 1283 and the race is for prestige of the neighborhoods there are 17 in the city but only 10 run in the race. Saverio told us that yesterday the new James Bond movie finished filming in the piazza that would have been cool to see them filing. We played hackie-sack until it was time to leave. The next stop was San Gimignano a very small town that at one time had 72 towers only a few remain today
"The road to heaven" Siena
. Saverio took us to the best place to get gelato they had the best flavors and they won best gelato 06-07 and 08-09. I got mixed berry but the best flavor was Ti's he got rosemary/raspberry, it tasted amazing. The town is built on a hill top with a great view we went up to the garden and climbed the wall it had a great view. We sat up there for 20 minutes or so it was just so beautiful. Next we climbed the Torre Grossa, the main tower of the city the view was breath taking we stayed at the top for 15 minutes. My pictures from the top come nowhere close to capturing the beauty of the countryside and most of them are taken of the town below. We also went to the museum underneath the tower they had a bunch of pictures of Christ and Mary. When we got back we got a Margarita bella Napoli pizza from a local place it was 10 times better than pizza in the states. We went to a club I hung out with Allison one of the girls from up the street because I have a girlfriend and she has a boyfriend. I protect her from the creepy Italian guys that ignore her when she tells them she has a boyfriend. Night wasn't that great it took us an hour and 25 minutes to walk home.
