Today we had a slow relaxed morning before heading off to explore more of Galle. After a very windy walk along the fort wall & seeing the Galle cricket stadium, we had a mosey in some of the local shops including a tea shop where they had so many flavours of tea - vanilla & chocolate particularly stood out.
After sitting and admiring the sea views in the first real sun of the trip so far we walked to the Serendipity Arts Cafe to have another chocolate milkshake as yesterday's was so good! We also tried an avocado, tomatoe & onion rotti (rotti being a pancake/wrap type thing which is a national dish) - which was also very nice and a great little lunchtime snack!
This afternoon we relaxed in the Fragipani Motel garden before having dinner at a cafe a couple of doors down - it was rated number 2 on trip advisor and didn't disappoint! A curry for me (Tild) & fried prawns/chips for Eden! Again, all under £5 each!
All in all we have really enjoyed Galle and its little streets, fort walls & great food! It's a restful evening for us before the mammoth bus trip up to Negombo Beach for our 2nd to final night in Sri Lanka!
