Hey Hey and a Big G'Day to ya
The Xmas spirit has begun.
Yesterday I pulled down the Christmas Tree that I'm sure has been standing and dressed for the past 3 or 4 years. I took it into the bathroom and gave it a shower. I've left it standing most probably for the same reason as the last few teachers....THE KIDS LOVE IT! Especially the wee little ones like next doors 3 year old. Keeps him amused for hours so we can sit and watch a DVD in peace.
Last night Lilly and friends couldn't make it to help me decorate it. I sat and started to watch a DVD but it kept calling me. Finally I gave in and around 11:00 I threw the first bit of tinsel on. Then stopped and felt guilty. The kids should really be helping me. So I took the decos off and continued with the DVD, but it just kept calling me...WALLAH! Christmas tree finished. I don't have much tinsel, can't get anymore in Tianyang so I thought, hey, why not dress it with little Aussie Koalas and flags. Perfect!
So, that's the beginning of Christmas in the South of China. Tomorrow I'm putting on a DVD day with some of the Grade 3's. They've been begging since the last one and I'm usually away. Gee, wouldn't it be funny if all three classes turned up...210 kids in my little flat...more than a bad dream mate! Maybe we'll get a little production line going making paper decorations. Well, I am in China where they are all made, cheap salary costs, it's the real deal!
Anyhow, just thought I'd let you know I haven't forgotten Christmas. I'm outta here for a ride into the hills and through the villages. Seeeeeeeeyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
