HeyHeyanda Big G'Day toya,
So today finds me here in Nagasaki.
Here there and everywhere, I'm beginning to feel like a pin ball machine!
Take the cable car!
Take the cable car up the mountain and stay to watch the sun set!
It's very beautiful and very romantic!
Upon leaving Hiroshima I was told by a French couple that I had to take the cable car up the mountain and sit to watch the sun set. I promised them I would and upon arriving in Nagasaki I grabbed a map at the station, didn't worry about my accommodation and sat my butt on the cable car that took me up three hundred and thirty or so meters to the top of Inasa-Yama.
The view was awesome and watching the sun go down and the lights come on was a real treat!
Can't say that my back pack and I got it on but I guess it could have been romantic with a living female!
But I too will tell every one I meet coming here to Nagasaki to (said with a French accent)
Take the cable car!
Take the cable car up the mountain and stay to watch the sun set!
It's very beautiful and very romantic!
Anyhow, after placing foot beneath the mountain later in the evening I went about find some food and then trying to locate the Nagasaki Youth Hostel. I was either very tired or my map was really shite. I wound my way here and wound my way there but I couldn't find it.
The fact that it was very late evening and very dark didn't help either.
Then one of those things happen that make you feel like a complete dick.
I had walked and walked the same streets several times without luck and when I spotted an elderly Japanese couple walking towards me I politely stopped them and showed them the name and address of the hostel.
Do you want to know what happened next?
You want to know don't you!
You want to be able to call me a complete dick the next time you see me don't you!
You are bad...BEE AYE DEE...BAD!
They both pointed to the building opposite us!
Yeah for me! I thought.
Aren't I the seasoned traveller.
Can't even spot a bloody YHA sign!
That mind you, was in plain view!
I thanked them 'so much' and ventured in to share many hours of stories of happiness with many other peoples from all over this wonderful globe of ours!
Beers N Cheers toya..shane
