No, not so cheery was I when I woke.
Not so cheery at all.

I sat very uncheery glued to the ceramic throne with my head buried in the basin beside me. I was not cheery at all. Today was Christmas and if Santa came near me full of his good cheer I would have put his head in the toilet before flushing it! Luckily for me we had a doctor amongst our group whom had packed half a chemist. To this day I'm unsure how he got through customs. I'd say within twenty minutes after popping the little pill if Santa dropped in I would have shared a beer with him.

The day was beautiful, I was all bound up and full of cheer once more!

Christmas day was spent in the South China Sea on board a small local tour boat. Our Christmas lunch was a sea food lover's delight. It was heaven. Why worry about eating sea food when you had Mount St Helens inside you already. Wouldn't really make a difference. Here we swam for several hours amongst the million plastic bags that float just beneath the surface of an Asian sea. I'm not making this up or exaggerating the amount. It is an unbelievable sight! Afterwards we ate our seafood Christmas Lunch and sat sunning ourselves on the boats roof.

There was beer thrown in there too somewhere.

In the afternoon we made our way to a tiny fishing village. We left our boat in threes in little round canoe thinymabobs. We walked amongst the village and sat to watch them make their little round canoe thingymabobs. It was an awesome experience for me. It was the first really tiny village that I had been awed by. I felt a sense that if one stayed in such a place one could maybe after a time be accepted and immerse themselves within its society. This is a feeling that stayed within for many years after and finally guided me to Tianyang China.

Christmas dinner?

I have no idea what we did for Christmas dinner...
