We were up early today to catch the ferry to Fraser Island. We wanted to do a couple of walks to the lakes which are meant to be really beautiful but unfortunately as we are only here for a day we weren't able to. You need to stay over for a couple of days in order to do those walks so we didn't get to see the lakes. We still did a couple of shorter walks though and got to see some of the rain forest, which was cool. We also got to walk on the beach for a while where we saw thousands of those sand crabs with the coloured backs. If we stood still they would all come up from under the sand and run along together which made a clacking sound, but then as soon as we moved they would all burrow really fast under the sand so we couldn't see them anymore. That was fun to watch! The whole beach was covered in them.
Later this afternoon we went to the day resort where there is a lagoon for swimming. The water was freezing so I was taking my time to build myself up to getting in. Ed thought I was taking too long and so thought it appropriate to throw me in with everyone watching! It was so cold! I have to admit it was funny though!!!! I think the guy inside the resort felt sorry for me cos he brought us some cake and drink free! Very nice it was too!
Tonight we drove to Noosa. It looks very posh and expensive! But we are sleeping by the beach so we can watch the sunrise in the morning. Have a feeling we may get into trouble with the posh people though as we are right opposite a very smart block of apartments!
