On Tuesday (9th) we arrived in LA via the coast road where we could see all of the beaches all the way down to Long Beach (South of LA). We didn't see Paris Hilton on Malibu Beach but she may still be in prison!!! We drove down Sunset Boulevard and past LA airport, which was a shock as we went under a tunnel while the aircrafts were going along the runway taxi lane above us! It was mad! LA is very well kept and all the streets are lined with palm trees - we immediately fell in love with the place!
On Wednesday we started off by going to Camping World just north of LA to do one of our inevitable dumps!!! RV dumps that is, ha ha! This was a very nice area. From here we went and parked at the Greek Theatre in Griffiths Park and walked about half a mile up a steep mountain road to Griffiths Observatory which is where we got our first glimpse of the infamous hollywood sign! The view was pretty cool and the weather was very hot. Coming past Malibu Beach.

 We came back down and had lunch in the RV before heading off to find a park and ride in Universal City to take us to Hollywood Boulevard. We did the walk of fame and looked around the shops. We got our second view of the hollywood sign, watched some street entertainers and went to have a browse around the lingerie museum, which turned out to not be a museum but more of an Ann Summers shop. No star underwear to be found!!!
We went back to the RV and then drove down Santa Monica Boulevard through to Beverley Hills to see the houses of the rich and famous. The houses here are huge and groomed with a fine tooth comb! We also drove down Rodeo Drive with all the designer shops. Eat your heart out Julia Roberts and Pretty Woman!!! This is where I told Ali "I don't think they have any travel clothes here!" This just reaffirmed why all the rich and famous move here - we love it too!!!
Today we had the mundane task of going to the RV place to get the fridge fixed and then stocked up on food before going to Long Beach where we had lunch. We went for a walk on the rocky pier where we saw lots of crabs! Then we walked along the beach and paddled in the sea. It was very cold!!! Next stop San Diego!
