The journey up to camp last Saturday was amazing. We weaved up through the mountains and saw some really beautiful scenery. There are some amazing sights right near camp too like the creek that is just down the road. It really is beautiful here. We have been here almost a week now and have been doing orientation all week. The people here are all lovely. The food is just like uni food and the cabins are little huts with a lot of bunk beds and then a little bathroom off to the side. They are not luxury but they are fine now we are used to them. We have had to say goodbye to privacy for the next 9 weeks though! Oh my God last night was amazing - when we got back to camp after being at the local bar we saw a baby black bear roaming around on the grass outside. It was so cute! We never thought we would get that close to one! There are lots of animals out here. Lots of bugs too which is just delightful! The campers all arrive tomorrow for our first session so we are feeling a little nervous right now but we just want to get stuck in now! We will update you guys soon to let you know how we are getting on. Love to all back home!

Black Bears
Ali, you are right in the middle of bear country. I came face to face with one on the way to the loo when I was camping nearby in a little town called phoneica. You should try and check this place out on one of your days off. You can take a huge inner tube up river and come down on it. Mostly quite gentle but a few rapids, which are really fun.
How is Ed, he said he hurt his knee the other day. Is he alright? The last thing you want is to have to cut your trip short from a daft accident. How was your day today when the campers arrived. Now you really wont have any privacy for the next 9 weeks. Still, makes it fun when you get to have quiet moments together.
Hope you are having fun and making the most of all the new people you are meeting. Make the most of every moment, this is something you will remember for the rest of your lives.
Bears
Hey,
Just read your blog. All sounds wonderful!
Seeing a bear must have been awesome. But I guess you are going to get to see lots of great wildlife on your travels. For a budding Zoologist like myself, sounds like heaven.
Love the sound of the log cabins. I love things like that. Earthy, quirky and means you are really a part of it all.
Have Fun! Although I guess that goes without saying.
