Well it's official. We've booked our flights so we've gone from the planning stage of the trip to now actually having something to look forward to!
This trip sprang from the idea for us to celebrate our 30th birthdays in style. Amy and I were born exactly four weeks apart from mid-June to mid-July, so what first started as an idea to take a month long vacation grew into what we have planned now, which is a nine month "round-the-world" trip. We decided to roughly plan our destinations to places where it would be hard to drag along a baby or toddler...this might be our last big adventure before we start thinking about a family!
The end of our twenties will also likely mark for us time to "grow up", so we wanted to shake things up a little before we really got settled. For Amy that means leaving her job for this trip, but for me, I'll be taking a leave of absence from my job.
