Well, Krakow was a great city...  unfortunately I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked.  After getting off of the train from the airport in Krakow, I started walking trying to find my hostel and my ankle felt weird.  After walking around aimlessly trying find the street it was on, I found someone who spoke english and told me it was right across the road (one thing I have noticed is that each country has their own way of labeling streets... well, so far | guess they have all been on he sides of buildings, but the signs look different.  So after checking into my hostel, I took off my shoes and noticed my achillies was creaking when I bent it. not a good sign.  but not much I could really do.  I looked for a pharmacy in Krakow to get a tensor bandage, but couldnt find one (I ended up getting one in Prague, and now it feels better, but that just could be the loss of circulation).I don't know if it was jet lag or what, but the whole time I was in
poland I was sooo tired and had absolutely no appetite, i had to meals
of perogies and some sausages plus my supper the first night and thats
all I ate.

So the hostel was awesome!  big screen tvs, PS3, Wii, free computers and wifi, nice showers, with body spray nozles.  the first night I hadnt eaten prettymuch all day so found a store, bought some bread thing with paste and cheese (not sure what the paste was), some cheese slices, 2 sausages, and 2 beers ad it came to 20 zy (about 6 dollars, nice!)

So the next day I walked around the old town, up to the castle and around and around on my bad ankle...  it was cool.  oh yeah, and the rain...  rained and rained and the river was so high they closed one of 2 briges across the river, and I hear the south part of the city was washed out.  big floods in southern poland! The buildings in krakow are cool...  they are not as clean or new looking as the other places I've been.  It makes them seem older than prague for instance.  It kind of reminded me of a not so rundown Havana.

I had a few drinks on the wednesday night with some other people and was sooo hung over the next day (probably cause of lack of food).  I only booked for 2 nights at the hostel, hoping that I could stay another night, but it was full so I had to go to a new hostel for one day.  I woke up super hung over and had to trek to the new hostel (about a 15 minute walk) with my bags and when I got there I realized I still had the keys to the old one so I had to go back to return them.  The new hostel was owned by the same people, nice as well, but more younger crowd. So this day I walked around the old jewish quarter, hung over but I forced myself to walk and ate a bit of a weird long baked thingy (popular with the krakovians) that had cheese, ham, and sauce.  Most of them like ketchup, but I picked garlic... so that was my day, walked around hung over, napped, walked some more, went to the train station to book my ticket to prague and then napped some more.  the next morning I got up at 8 and went to the train station for my first train ride...  to Prague!
