My second day in Luxor was just as cool as the first.  Moon, Marcus and I went to Karnak, which was incredible.  It was basically under construction/addition for over 1000 year.  The main hall of columns (over 100 in fact) dwarfed all people.  The temple was built to Amon, the sun god, who was subsequently combined with Ra, another sun god, making Amon Ra.  All of the pharoahs made their own additions to the temple, so it is in some ways like a collage of different structures.  We stayed there for a while (see the variety of photos, when they are posted) and afterward I went back to the restaurant where I could eat salad.  Lasagne this time!  Then I went to the Luxor Museum, which is many times more modern than the Egyptian museum.  There they had the Golden Cow from Tut's tomb, tons to pristine sculptures, and two royal mummies.  They are so small!  The evening was chill, and included another stroll through the market and time on the roof.  Met another American who happens to be going to Dahab as well.  We're going to have quite a crew there!  It will be nice to have a posse of friends.  Hanging out at the hostel, I heard all of the security measures that surround tourists here.  If you leave a city, you require a convoy of police cars (particularly in the Western Desert), two police officers sleep in every tourist hotel, and penalties for crimes against tourists are severe.  Tomorrow, fly to Cairo and then bus to Dahab!
