Hello, everyone!
I have acquired another teacher, if only until December 9. Her name is Julia. She started on Thursday, and she just finished her practicum here, which concluded her requirements for being an art teacher.
So, we've been doing some really fun projects, and it's just wonderful to have someone here who really knows what to do with all these wonderful supplies! Friday we made birds with feathers and glitter, and they turned out really well, and Thursday she had the kids do pastel drawings (we had a really small group that day, so it went very very well).
Julia also has been able to let me know about some of the developmental stages kids go through with art -- like that when they're around 10 years old, they want everything to be like a photograph, so get easily discouraged with their artistic attempts
I went salsa dancing last night with Gonzalo, and that was really fun. I had to be back early, though, since this morning we had the annual corn festival, which meant starting to prepare at 6 -- shucking the corn, grinding it to make into tamales and other fun things... it was very yummy.
So, here are some more pictures. I've got a friend coming to visit on Thursday, and that's very exciting as well.
Hope you're well!
Peace,
Elizabeth
