Hi everyone!
Well, Dad and I got back on Sunday in time for church at Sola Fe, and it was really cool for him to get to see that community. They had confirmation, too, and one of the members was baptized as well, so it was wonderful to be part of that as well.
Saida and Gregorio, two members of the church, invited us over to learn how to make rice pudding and chop suey, so of course we accepted. We went on Tuesday after classes and got to hang out with their family, which was really cool.
English classes have been going pretty well, and I just got two new students last night. This is a bit frustrating, as it seems my class is pretty fluid for the most part; continuity is a hard thing to keep up if the students are always changing. However, we watched Third Rock from the Sun (in english, of course!) and I think people mostly understood what was going on; it's a really good way to get vocabulary!
We have had more students coming again; we are now up to about 10 in each session, so that's really cool. It's about the perfect number, though I have my maximum at 20. No one has come back yet to apologize; Luis came yesterday to ask if he could come in, and I told him what he had to do. He tried to tell me he hadn't done anything, etc., and I stuck with it and told him he could come back on Friday with a written apology and read it to the group. We'll see if that happens.
Dad was supposed to head out today, but his flight was cancelled. So, he's here for another day (yay!) and we'll get to see a bit more of the city. And also finish my walls. =)
That's about all for now. There are a bunch of fun pictures here; enjoy!
Peace,
Elizabeth
