Hello, everyone!
Well, I just dropped Ben off at the airport. I've decided to use this day off to catch up with all the stuff I haven't gotten done, like logging receipts and filing and stuff. All the boring things. I finished the sixth Harry Potter (thanks, Mom!) while Ben and I were on the bus back from Arenal, so I guess it's just the grindstone for me.
Yesterday was, I guess, 80 percent good -- though the other 20 percent was particularly bad! Some of the kids made some real headway with Tangrams and Memory, which is always cool to see. We didn't get to do art projects, though, because everyone wanted to color in the first group and the second group was so out of control that I had to send them home early. (I am thoroughly convinced that windows, which would drop the temp at least 10 degrees would make all the difference...) During the first group, Luis, Argenis' 10-year-old brother, spit in the face of his cousin, Alexis -- right in front of me! I tried to get him to apologize, but he was really defiant and wouldn't do it. I think I'm not going to let him back in until he makes his apology.
After sending out the second group, which had managed to get Plasticene ground into the carpet and was jumping around, a couple of boys decided to throw everyone's shoes around downstairs, and in the 10 seconds it took me to get down there, there were two socks and a shoe in an unflushed toilet. I love Lysol... but since I didn't get to see the perpetrator because they bolted, I can't actually punish anyone for this. Ben and I had been dealing with a couple of other misbehaving kids upstairs... I'm trying to figure out where the shoes can go so that they don't get mud on the carpet *and* don't get thrown around, especially in the toilet, but I'm not sure where that will be. Yay for tweaking! I felt really badly about having to cut the day short, especially because it was the first day in a long time that a couple of really wonderful boys could fit it into their crazy school schedule. Ayayayay...
English class went really well last night, and Ben played along in Around the World. It's a really fun group!
Hope you all are doing well. I'm heading to Michigan next Wednesday for Melissa and Randy's wedding (two close friends of mine), and then I'll be back the following Tuesday with my dad. I've really not had to operate without help at all yet... I'm so spoiled!
Love,
Elizabeth

Lizzy B- Just got my first look at your website/activities. Boy does it look like a lot of hard work, fun and an abundance of blessings. I am so proud of you, you have been a blessing to Kevin and I for a long time. Keep up the good work kiddo, you are in our prayers.
