Hello all!

Things have been going very well. I've been meeting a lot of really nice people, and went to a concert on Saturday night with Heidi, Marco, Jennifer, Johann (who I couldn't believe came along at 3 years old -- the concert started at 9!!!) and Marco's other son, Antony, who is around 20 or so. It was really fun, and we downed serious amounts of cotton candy. I guess the cultural minister of Costa Rica is trying to recapture the public spaces as venuesfor public concerts, so there are a lot of these outdoor deals.

Otherwise, I've been working on my apartment -- meaning I paint and spackle and the construction guys actually do the construction. I'm not that cool. The bathroom has been painted, but there's still no kitchen sink (though it was bought today!! Davidin
Davidin
! Yay!!!) and the thing that needs most to get done still isn't -- the lock on the front of the church is a set of 2 padlocks from the outside, and it needs to be changed. If they did that, I could camp out in the church.

It looks like I'm going to direct Vacation Bible School at Iglesia Jesus Nuestro Refugio, which is interesting because we are planning our own materials -- we don't get to have any of that fancy schmancy prewritten stuff! We're going to focus on being a part of God's creation -- and spending a day talking about the environment, too. I'm thinking the older kids -- and some of the younger ones, too -- can go out and pick up trash for points. Trash on the ground is a major issue here, and it seems extremely silly in a place that's known for its ecotourism!

Not much else to say here, so I'll close for now. Ben's coming in about a week, and I'm psyched for that!

Peace,
Elizabeth
