Our time in Roswell was too short.  Took pics next to the aliens outside the motel.  The town embraced the foretold crash and has an alien theme.  They also like putting 3D sculptures on their storefront signs.

Carlsbad Caverns
Elaine spotted a "deer goat" in a cave along the cliffside
had to wait due to "construction." had a lead car drive us through the park.
sighed a huge sigh of relief when the "mandatory" kennels had a sign that said it was a max of 68 degrees today, therefore we didn't have to fork out a ton of cash to have the cats boarded for two hours.

Dustin is going to help Elaine with the "morning grumpies."

OMG caves
awe inspiring

camera shake, tripods and 2sec delay

picnic lunch

oil fields in NM, oil fields in TX

delectable conversations about Mexicans and Native Americans and American citizens in denial --. expand on this later!!

alternate routes were fun due to oil rigs & passing them.
followed a pickup truck with an a/c holding area w/radioactive material.  they were going about 87-90mph.  thankful for the safety net

after the oil fields, it broke into mesas w/80mph speed limits
sped past a cop while going 85 and didn't get pulled over
cop even hung out, then spotted a speeder going the other direction and jumped the median

didn't think i'd be driving past 80mph this trip

darkness fell

85-90mph in complete darkness

san antonio is huge
they have a sea world O_o

Traveled ~3,500 miles so far.  Will check the odometer for an accurate number tomorrow.

Also have observations about E NM and W TX and how the majority of folks like to pretend the Spanish weren't there first!
