At the first stop we climbed the viewing tower and were able to see space shuttle Atlantis, due for launch on the 15th March. It was an amazing sight. The bus then took us to where they house the huge Saturn II rockets, the ones used to put men in space and on the moon. After grabbing some lunch we sat outside where Rick had a fight on his hands. There was a very persistent bird that wanted Rick's lunch and wouldn't go away until we headed inside away from it. We headed across to the last stop on the tour, the Space Station construction building. Here NASA finalises the modules of the huge space station before they are sent into orbit and plugged into the station
We then tried to contact Jack and Ramsey in Cape Coral but had problems firstly getting a public phone as some guys were unsuccessfully stuffing around with a phone card and wouldn't give up the only public phone outside of the visitors centre. Convincing the security guard to let us back inside we tried to call, but alas the engaged signal was heard yet again. Since we'd tried a few times before we thought we might have the wrong number.
Since we didn't want to just turn up to Jack and Ramsey's place un-announced we looked at the map and saw "Melbourne". We thought we can't come to Florida and not see Melbourne as we're all from Melbourne back home in Australia. Off to Melbourne we drove to spend the night and try to work out why we can't contact our friends.
