Living in the Clapham North share flat has been great. Getting free wireless Internet has been a bonus, helping with the job hunting and emails. We're here with one guy from Canberra who works at a local pub pulling beers and is driving around town in a BMW 7-series as a chauffer. Another Aussie guy is from Sydney. This is his first time out of home and he's coming to grips with cooking, washing and working fulltime. Finally a nice couple from Cronulla in Sydney live in the back room. They missed out on the riots as they were already here, he working as a head chef and her as a promotions and marketing person. They are really laid back and like the others hardly ever here. It's great having the flat to ourselves.
Every week, as part of the lease agreement, a lady comes to clean the place. She is very very chatty and we've learnt a lot about her life.
Megan finally got here police checks and references sorted out so PULSE let her start work at a few hospitals. She's now a whiz at catching the local double-decker buses and the tube. Rick has been actively looking for work, but most companies are scared off by his working holiday VISA. Hopefully soon something will come up, otherwise he will continue his relaxation as Megan is now the bread winner! He did spend the day out in Woking having an interview and has managed to secure about five since then.
We can only live here until the 1st of April as the owners are going to refurbish the flat and move back in. It's in a great location down the road from the Clapham High Street with all it's shops and bars and only 10 minutes walk to the other tube station of Stockwell. As we're having to move on we have been actively looking for a place to stay for the next three months. The amount of money you pay here for a shared place is a lot considering the condition and what you get. We're going to spend the rest of this week checking places out until something comes up.

01 - View from our room
She's from Portugal, wanted to be a nurse, has a 15 year old son, dates a Brazilian man, likes cleaning, wants to live in Brazil one day, thinks money isn't everything, is the black sheep of her family, loves her mother dearly, thinks the young guy from Sydney is a slob, thinks London is too expensive. The list goes on. If there is anyone wanting to know anything about her, drop us a line as either we can ask or we're sure we probably already know the answer!Megan finally got here police checks and references sorted out so PULSE let her start work at a few hospitals.
