Good Intentions

Having our bus to Oslo organized and thinking we'd still not seen much of Stockholm we decided to attempt the walking tour in the guide we had. Of course we missed a couple of turns and eventually gave up following its directions. As always we had good intentions but they failed as we aimlessly made our way to Riddarholmen (the Knights Island) and over the bridge to Gamla Stan (the old town). Wandering around the narrow alleys was great. The snow was melting as the temperature had risen to 8 degrees Celsius, but this made the cobble stones really slippery. At one turn we stumbled across a statue of St George slaying a dragon and the Royal Palace. A lot of the museum's here are free (great idea!) so we checked out the Armoury Museum. It was one of the best we've seen on the trip so far.
Since we've been walking around so much our legs were a bit sore so back to the hostel and the nasty lady we headed. Not much to do except wait for the bus and watch TV in another language.
