Today was a blissfully boring day. We flew into Stockholm from Helsinki on an early flight and as we are kind of tired of traveling around so much, decided to stay put for the day. Our check-in at Helsinki airport was interesting as the lady behind the desk used to be called Malle by her parents as a pet name. She now runs a lovely dog kennel under the name Mallen Pekingese. For those of you that are interested her web page is available here! She did look after us, giving us roomy seats and ignoring excess baggage we've accumulated.
Our clothes are in desperate need of a wash but unfortunately the dryer at the hostel (the hostel we picked because it had washing facilities mind you) was broken and we had nowhere to hang the clothes to dry them. We did search for a local Laundromat but they are not very popular here in Sweden so we will have to make do with crusty clothes for a few more days. Thank god for bathes though. At least we have clean undies and since it is a little bit warmer here we don't really need to wear our dirty thermals. We did venture as far as the supermarket, which was HUGE, to buy some supplies for dinner and breakfast. You wouldn't think it would be hard to find milk but they don't seem to drink much of it here. Though they did have about four shelves of every variety of yoghurt you can imagine. We had a yummy dinner of microwaved pasta with a nice Aussie couple staying in our dorm, then hit the sack early for some much needed sleep.
