This morning we headed to the infamous Forbidden City and actually didn't realise how huge the place was. With an audio tour on offer, narrated by Roger Moore (famous for being James Bond 007), we hired the tape and shared the headphones; our first audio tour for the trip. How could we pass up a narration by Roger Moore? It was hilarious listening to him talk about the Chinese moguls and describe the palace. The actual palace itself was cool being a community on it's own. The emperors rarely left the safety of the compound so we guess it had to be big to keep them happy. These days though you can buy souvenirs, Olympic memorabilia and even Starbucks coffee within the walls of the once sacred palace. We were surprised at this but then again we have taken to calling Starbucks "The Virus" as it is taking over everywhere.
After the palace we headed to Sanlitin Rd to try and find a place called the Bookworm
Inside Meg was in heaven. It was basically a book shop and English library for all the expats but it had free WiFi Internet access, great coffee and food and a huge stack of magazines to browse. We stayed for a few hours updating the blog then headed back for some sleep.

. We walked up and down the kilometer long street three times without any luck, asking for directions twice. We eventually stopped and had dinner at a Turkish place because it was getting so late. Just when we were about to give up and go home we stumbled across it just over an intersection that we thought was a different road. Some of the roads here change names up to four times in a small section. Most confusing.Inside Meg was in heaven.
