Today we decided to do some Christmas shopping, so we parted ways and headed in different directions inside the huge Harbour City Shopping Complex. It's like Chadstone multiplied by 20! After our shopping excursion we headed back to the hotel to ditch our bags. Hearing that there was to be a fireworks and light show at Causeway Bay across on Hong Kong island, we decided to head for a hotel on the foreshore to watch the show. Eating tapas and sipping a cocktail was a Christmas indulgence. The crowds on the street were huge. There were police everywhere and they had blocked off most of the roads around the harbourside. The fireworks were good (though nothing beats Sydney's New Years celebration) but the Christmas lights on the side of the building were the winner. They were everywhere and fantastic. We wished they would do something like this back home.
