Reluctantly, but also with great excitement we awoke early and packed up our things for check out. Into the bags went all our belongings and also everything that wasn't bolted down. They have to assume that if they make all the room accessories like the shampoo, slippers, pens etc so appealing with Mickey Mouse designs, the guests are going to take them.
We headed down to have a buffet breakfast in the Mickey Mouse Chef themed dining room. It would have to be one of the best buffet we have ever seen. There was every type of food, Western and Asian, you could ever imagine. The highlight was the Mickey Mouse shaped waffles.
With very very full tummies we headed to the park. It was amazing. Our first stop was Adventure Land where we headed to Tarzan's Treehouse followed by the river cruise. The guy running the boat was hilarious. At the end as we were pulling into the pier he said "I'll tell you what my Mother said to me on my 18th birthday - pack your bags and get out of here the free ride is over" and with that he kicked us out of the boat. We then headed off to our first ride; The Mad Hatter's Teacups. The line was long but we waited anyway. When we hit the front we ran like little kids to secure the cup of our choice then Rick proceeded to spin the crap out of it. It was fun tough. Other highlights of the day included the fantastic Lion King stage show and Mickey's Philharmonic, an interactive 3D movie show where you get blasted with water and cold air to simulate different parts scenes. It also had a section with "smell-a-vision" when an apple pie came on the screen, you could smell apple and cinnamon. Yummy. We also enjoyed the Disney on Parade on the main street where all the characters danced and sang songs.
Towards the evening we watched the lighting of the Christmas tree and enjoyed the fake snow that rained down on main street. We went on the Buzz Lightyear ride where you use laser beam guns to shoot and score points whilst riding in space ships. Rick won both times.
Saving the best till last we headed to Space Mountain where Rick relived his childhood and wouldn't hold Megan's hand because he wanted to grip the rail with both of his. The rollercoaster lived up to all it's expectations and gave us both a great ending to a fantastic day. Basking in the joy of acting like children for a day, we headed to Kowloon and to our hotel for the next few days for some adult luxury of a King size bed and hot (clean) shower.
