Today for the first time in a while we didn't have anything planned. We had seen a sign around town asking for blood donations for the local children's hospital as apparently the local people won't donate blood due to their religious beliefs. A lot of the time a child's life can be saved by a simple blood transfusion but without donors it is difficult. With lots of time on our hands we headed to the Angkor Hospital for Children to donate. With Megs watching carefully to make sure it was all sterile we both gave up 500mls. In return they gave us a free t-shirt, a can of coke and a box of strawberry biscuits. We walked away with matching Band-Aids, feeling like we had given something back.
We checked out a mini Angkor Wat sculpture that was created by a local artist but felt a bit ripped off at the $2.50 USD entrance fee each. It wasn't really worth the money but we didn't know till you got inside. The bloody LP guide talked it up far too much. We also had a look at another local photographers work. Rick was pleased to see that some of the photos he had taken the day before were very similar to the artists, though having professional equipment can help.
