We decided to get a taxi to the airport for our first fight on Vietnam Air to Ho Chi Minh City (or Saigon as it was previously known). On the flight the guy in front of Rick put his seat back as far as he could, right into his knees. On takeoff we flew for about 10 minutes in thick misty cloud before breaking out into clear skies. Flying through the mist was very bumpy and this was the bumpiest flight we'd had so far.
At HCMC we found a hotel and organised pre-paid taxi from the airport. We decided to go for a wander around town and head to the main market up the road. When we entered, Rick leading the way, he got grabbed and hassled to buy shirts, belts, hats; all fake goods. Getting hassled a bit too much, even more than in Jaipur, India, we decided to leave. With some spare time up our sleeves we wandered around the touristy streets and found a restaurant called Z for dinner. Rick had some lovely tacos and Meg fish and chips.
