Today we decided to have a laid back chill out day and basically bum around. We both slept in and finished off the books we were reading. Updated our web blog and uploaded some photos. This took a fair bit of the day.

For fun we decided to get a taxi (getting the metered taxi's to actually use their meter is like trying to get blood from a stone and the tuk tuk guys try to rip off most tourists) to the Ratchadamnoen Boxing Stadium so see some authentic Thai Boxing. We pushed past the touts outside and went straight to the ticket office, where we were met by a lady that studied at RMIT. She had a Thai-Australian accent and started raving about St Kilda, Flinder Street station etc. she let us know that the beers inside were expensive and that we should get them outside and smuggle them in in our bag. As we were Australian they wouldn't check our bags and she also said we could use the video camera "because we were Australian" even though it said you couldn't.

The fights were interesting, being a mixture of boxing and kicking. The crowd got fired up when the main event was on. Surprisingly Megan even enjoyed herself. With the Thai Boxing over most of the crowd left - even the band! The last fight was a normal 6 round boxing match but the guy from the red corner got KO'd in the first 90 seconds. All over red rover. We walked back to the hostel past the City Parapet Phrakan Fortress, grabbed some munchies and went to bed.
