Shortly after writing the last entry at the airport Rick began to feel ill. Luckily He made the 1 hour flight ok. Once we landed he was looking really pale, feeling really hot and very lethargic. I must admit i was a bit worried and checked him over for a rash and did the usual nurse things. We booked a hotel and splurged on a taxi to take us there. Once we arrived and checked in I checked Ricks temp and it was almost 40 degrees. Luckily he could take panadol and tolerate water ok so i bundled him off to bed and then sat awake for a few hours rechecking him to make sure he was ok. He tells me now 2 days later that he can't remember much of it but that he has never felt so sick in his life. Thankfully he seems to be ok, temp is back to normal and feeling better.

We are both feeling run down but have splurged a bit on a nice hotel to relax a bit. We are finding it is not as noisy here as in India. We are able to sleep in a little bit which is nice.

Rick hasn't left the hotel room yet to check out Thailand but i have done a little bit of exploring. The weather is hot and muggy with a quick rain shower a couple of times a day (generally starts the minute I leave the hotel). The shopping looks great we are thinking about getting some new clothes. Despite getting our stuff cleaned properly most of it is still really dirty from India, and it is so cheap here.

The beach is right across the road and we also have a pool at the hotel. We will be checking out the massage places as soon as Rick is up to it. This also looks cheap, about $10 AUD for an hour.

Hopefully we will be putting up some photos from India soon.

Re: Re: safe at last
Unfortunately you don't know me or my partner at all. We loved India and WILL be returning one day. You are not in Australia and have no right to judge us on something that is no doubt being portrayed badly in the media over there. I dont think commenting on my blog is the correct forum for this debate but i would welcome an email from you to discuss this issue.
